Standards-based certification for safe, strategic AI implementation in schools
Schools everywhere are beginning to adopt Artificial Intelligence, yet many leadership teams and AI Working Groups lack a clear benchmark for what responsible and effective implementation actually looks like.
Pressure to act on AI without
a clear benchmark for what
good practice looks like
Limited time to develop clear
policies, governance, and
documentation
Leadership teams struggling
to align on vision, oversight,
and accountability
Teachers eager to engage
with AI but lacking
confidence or clarity
Policies, guidance, and
parent communication
lagging behind practice
A need for evidence of progress
and school-wide implementation,
not just activity
Rapid adoption and inconsistent use by both
staff and students, creating reputational,
safeguarding, legal, and operational risks
The AI Certification Portal provides a guided process for schools to evaluate their current practice, strengthen their foundations, and implement AI responsibly across the whole school.
Built around the Eblana Learning AI Standards for Schools, the certification evaluates practice across 4 Standards and 32 components, while providing practical guidance on what to strengthen next.
Through diagnostics, short learning modules, templates, exemplar documentation, and practical implementation resources, the portal helps schools:
Benchmark current AI practice against clear standards
Quickly create the AI policies, documentation, and frameworks schools need
Align leadership, teaching, and governance around responsible AI use
Schools gain a clear maturity profile of their AI readiness, along with a defined pathway toward becoming an AI-Informed, AI-Safe, and AI-Empowered school.
AI Certification is built around the Eblana Learning AI Standards for Schools, a framework designed to guide responsible AI implementation across the whole school.

Governance, policy, and leadership for responsible AI implementation.

Equipping the whole school community to use AI safely and effectively.

Preparing students to learn and thrive in an AI-enabled world.

Evaluating impact and strengthening AI practice over time.
Schools receive an overall maturity determination across four levels:
Beginning
Early exploration and initial AI implementation.
Developing
Emerging policies, guidance, and growing staff engagement.
Established
Strong governance and consistent AI practice across the school.
Exemplary
AI is embedded across leadership, teaching, and innovation.
Schools achieving Beginning or Developing are recognised as an AI-Certified School.(In Progress)
Schools achieving Established or Exemplary receive AI-Certified School (Endorsed) status and certification assets to support communication with staff, families, and the wider community.
Schools completing the certification receive a structured evaluation of their AI implementation.
